So the only outstanding issue is this SupportAssist thing. So this problem appears to be solved! That's a huge relief: it's only a quiet buzzing sound but it drives me crazy after just 5 minutes of listening to it - made me worry that the computer was about to blow its version of a fuse, or even its CPU. Mercifully, the buzzing noise has not returned.

I'll just fire up DaVinci and see if the buzzing noise returns with the keyboard plugged into the right-side USB ports. If I plug the keyboard in either of the two USB ports on the right of the machine the buzzing noise does not return. If I plug the keyboard back into either of those two ports the buzzing noise resumes. If I unplug the keyboard from either of the two USB ports on the left of the Alienware 17 (left, as when looking at the screen / front of the machine) the buzzing noise immediately stops. Simple fix, remove the panel and get some insulation and fill the voids, replace cover, end of problem. Had the same problem after I did my chambered 3' exhaust system. From my experience, that is where the buzzing is coming from. It's my USB keyboard, which is a cheapo AUKEY mechanical keyboard. The next step is to pull the black plastic cover off near the rear speaker. UPDATE: Just found out what's causing the buzzing sound. I think if I reboot my computer my current version of SA will magically be reinstalled, but I'll have to check this after posting this message.

The other thing is when I run SupportAssist it keeps prompting me to update it, but every time I try and upgrade SA I get this message: "We encountered an error while upgrading SupportAssist. This buzzing noise is not solely related to DaVinci - occasionally the buzzing sound starts when the computer runs other programs too. Sometimes the buzzing noise goes away again when I close DaVinci Resolve, other times not. When I plug the power connector back into the computer the buzzing sound remains absent but if I run certain programs, most notably DaVinci Resolve, the buzzing noise returns. The sound seems to be power-related because I can stop it by unplugging the power connector.
